Crafting Authentic Scale Models of New England’s Iconic Boats

Specializing in small, detailed models of traditional New England vessels, I focus on capturing the essence of boats like dories, lobster smacks, and small sailboats. Every model is built with precision, utilizing the finest scale-appropriate details and period-correct paints and stains. To complete each piece, I mount it on a custom wooden base, accompanied by an engraved brass or nickel plate that typically includes the vessel’s name, service details, and a date, such as “Circa 1845.” This attention to historical accuracy and craftsmanship ensures that each model is a true representation of New England’s maritime heritage

Selecting and Customizing Your Model

To make your model selection process easy, I work with kits from reputable suppliers such as ModelExpo, BlueJacket Shipcrafters, Amati, and Premier Models, ensuring each kit is both historically accurate and scaled correctly. I generally build to a 1/8 inch to a foot scale but am flexible depending on your needs. I enhance each model by using higher-quality components, such as premium rigging and pins, ensuring an accurate and durable finished product. My pricing is straightforward: simply multiply the model’s kit price by 2.5 to estimate the final cost, which includes a finely crafted wooden base and engraved nameplate. Most models are ready within three months, with free delivery within a 100-mile radius of my location and packaging/shipping at cost.
